Manufacturer and Distributor Select NetSuite for Supporting Business Growth, IT Cost Reduction and Streamlined Business
SAN MATEO, Calif.—November 25, 2013—NetSuite Inc. (NYSE: N), the industry's leading provider of cloud-based financials / ERP and omnichannel commerce software suites, today announced continued strong momentum among organisations abandoning Sage ERP systems in favour of NetSuite's integrated cloud business management suite. More than 500 former Sage users have upgraded to NetSuite, gaining greater business agility, visibility, efficiency and scalability for growth than is possible with Sage on-premise and hosted solutions, while significantly reducing IT cost and complexity. Two of these companies, Eco Box, a distributor of moving boxes and shipping supplies in San Antonio, Texas, and Cequal Products, Inc., a manufacturer of posture fitness products in Santa Monica, Calif., outlined the factors that prompted them to abandon Sage technology and the questions they asked before selecting and implementing NetSuite's cloud business management software during a recent webinar, now available on YouTube "Why It's Time to Upgrade from Sage to Cloud ERP".
With NetSuite's cloud solution, which includes financials / ERP, CRM, Ecommerce and professional services automation (PSA), former Sage users report they have been able to eliminate inefficient, labor-intensive administrative processes, data silos and their reliance on multiple third-party applications to supply functionality not included in Sage products, such as CRM and Ecommerce. The continued migration of Sage users to the NetSuite cloud comes on the heels of a recent study in which 74 percent of ERP decision-makers in the U.K. using Sage software that were interviewed said they were likely to move to the cloud. The survey, conducted by the YouGov UK research consultancy, also found that 44 percent of respondents didn’t believe that Sage had a strategy to get them to the cloud. Though the survey was based in the U.K., NetSuite has observed similar sentiments in the U.S. and elsewhere in the world, as more than 500 companies to date have switched from Sage to the NetSuite cloud. By moving to NetSuite, former Sage users have avoided the high time and cost penalty of on-premise servers, back-up systems, security infrastructure and software applications, each of which required regular maintenance, upgrades and troubleshooting by in-house IT staff. NetSuite’s cloud architecture has given former Sage users greater mobility in distributed business environments, with personnel at multiple domestic or international locations able to access the system on demand without the need for a problematic VPN connection. With real-time visibility into financials and operations not possible in a Sage environment, organisations that have upgraded from Sage to NetSuite report they have greater flexibility and scalability for business growth. In addition, the NetSuite OneWorld global business management solution has given former Sage users new capacity for global growth, with capabilities for multi-subsidiary management, global financial consolidation, multi-currency conversions and local taxation support.
Former Sage users such as EnvisionWare, Lightspeed, Laguna Tools, AbilityNet, Innovise, Opta Sports Data and Redstor have upgraded to NetSuite to:
Eco Box and Cequal Products are among the companies running their growth-oriented businesses faster and more cost-efficiently in the NetSuite cloud:
Eco Box (www.ecobox.com), a distributor of shipping supplies and moving boxes in San Antonio, Texas, has more than doubled its revenue since replacing Sage Peachtree in 2006 with NetSuite ERP and NetSuite CRM. In addition, the company deployed the NetSuite SuiteCommerce platform for its B2B and B2C Ecommerce storefront and as a POS solution for its brick-and-mortar retail stores in Texas, gaining real-time integration with financials, inventory and order management not possible with Sage. Meanwhile, Eco Box is avoiding the expense of two to three full-time order management personnel otherwise required. Selected over SAP, Microsoft Dynamics GP, Salesforce.com and other Sage products, NetSuite has given Eco Box a highly transparent and scalable solution for growth and efficiency that allows the company to easily add new warehouses and stores. Building on its success, in 2011 Eco Box implemented the NetSuite OneWorld global business management solution to support business expansion into a subsidiary structure and manage financials across the entities. "The instant access to data we have with NetSuite gives us great insight and peace of mind, whereas with Sage we were always wondering where we stood and couldn’t really find out for 30 days," said Dale Malone, Eco Box Managing Partner. "Opening a new location is just so seamless in NetSuite, and our SuiteCommerce website has enabled us to grow Ecommerce immensely without adding headcount."
Cequal Products (www.cequal.com), a manufacturer of posture fitness products in Santa Monica, Calif., replaced Sage BusinessWorks and SugarCRM in 2006 with NetSuite to manage its financials with real-time transparency, support its manufacturing and inventory operations, and gain CRM capabilities for consumers buying over its website, as well as, B2B distributor and retailer customers. With NetSuite, Cequal can generate sales reports within an hour, compared to days required with its previous Sage system. NetSuite manufacturing support has enabled Cequal to streamline production of its flagship BedLounge product and other posture-related goods at its southern California plant, while the company can better manage inventory for its 700 SKUs and better source materials from about 20 suppliers. With NetSuite, Cequal has steadily increased its retail partner stores to more than 100, including Relax the Back and Ortho Mattress, while expanding international with B2B sales to Canada, Israel, Russia and Australia. "NetSuite has allowed us to reduce our resource usage significantly," said Daniel Hirsch, Cequal Chief Operating Officer. "The fact that NetSuite is in the cloud is a huge advantage because our workforce is spread out. NetSuite has enabled us to be flexible and grow the business without adding staff. Our ability to access information is significantly better so we have a much better handle on where we are."
Today, more than 16,000 companies and subsidiaries depend on NetSuite to run complex, mission-critical business processes globally in the cloud. Since its inception in 1998, NetSuite has established itself as the leading provider of enterprise-class cloud financials/ERP suites for divisions of large enterprises and mid-sized organisations seeking to upgrade their antiquated client/server ERP systems. NetSuite excels at streamlining business operations as demonstrated in a recent Gartner study naming NetSuite as the fastest growing financial management software vendor on a global basis. NetSuite continues its success in delivering the best cloud ERP/financials suites to businesses around the world, enabling them to lower IT costs significantly while increasing productivity, as the global adoption of the cloud is accelerating.
