EVITA PERONI bands with NetSuite SuiteCommerce to accelerate international expansion

Global Fashion Accessories Brand Extends Footprint From 32 to 122 Countries with NetSuite SuiteCommerce to Manage End-to-End Multichannel Sales Across B2C and In-Store

SINGAPORE— 16 October 2012—NetSuite Inc. (NYSE: N), the industry's leading provider of cloud-based financials / ERP software suites, today announced that women's fashion accessory brand EVITA PERONI has adopted the new NetSuite SuiteCommerce platform to run its entire global eCommerce business. The Danish retailer, with logistics and warehousing in Hong Kong, now relies on NetSuite SuiteCommerce for inventory management, order management, distribution, local tax compliance, multi-currency management, customer relationship management, and marketing—all with minimal in-house IT resources. As a result, EVITA PERONI has nearly quadrupled its international reach from 32 to 122 countries and sold tens of thousands of products around the world—many in countries where the retailer has no physical stores, such as the US. Through SuiteCommerce, EVITA PERONI now plans to add additional customer touchpoints in 2013, including mobile, and it has the option to integrate its retail POS systems, for real-time financial consolidation of its multi-channel global business.

NetSuite's SuiteCommerce platform is at the heart of NetSuite Commerce as a Service (CaaS), and enables businesses to manage interactions with other businesses and directly with consumers via a cloud platform that delivers an enhanced customer experience, on multiple touchpoints (website, smartphone, tablet, in-store, social media site, etc.), directly on the core NetSuite ERP/CRM business management application. This technology transcends the limitations and complexity of first-generation eCommerce systems to deliver new efficiencies for merchants and a superior experience for customers.

Founded in 1988 in Copenhagen, EVITA PERONI is a family-owned business, selling women's hair accessories, jewellery and eyewear through franchises in 32 countries across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the Americas. It has offices in Denmark, Hong Kong, Beijing, London and San Francisco.

After two decades focused on retailing in shopping malls and premium department stores, EVITA PERONI chose NetSuite in August 2010 to support its entry into eCommerce. NetSuite's complete cloud-based commerce solution supports the brand's global footprint and offers easy scalability to support future growth. NetSuite's Hong Kong-based partner, The Egg, built its online store in about 20 weeks to attract new and existing EVITA PERONI shoppers for the Christmas 2010 season and beyond. The brand was surprised that its online store quickly spread beyond its traditional retail footprint, exponentially attracting users from around 80 countries where no EVITA PERONI franchises exist, particularly the US and Canada, which now accounts for around 42 percent of evitaperoni.com traffic.

"We knew very little about eCommerce when we started, seeing it mainly as a digital catalogue to support our brick and mortar stores," said Beto Rojas, business development manager for EVITA PERONI.

"Two years on, our attitude has changed as we've watched our eCommerce brand grow strong customer bases in markets where we have no outlets. We get several enquiries every month from countries in the Americas, Europe and Asia, asking how they can become an EVITA PERONI franchisee — and we're confident our on-line presence plays a vital role in the level of partner interest we now receive."

Beyond selling fashion accessories, EVITA PERONI uses the advanced SuiteCommerce merchandising tools to increase visitor dwell time and increase product purchasing online or in-store. This ranges from dynamic ‘goes well with' complementary shopping cart suggestions, to linking to the brand's multi-language Facebook, Twitter and YouTube channels for styling tips, fashion trends and how-to videos.  After deploying SuiteCommerce, thousands of unique visitors spend nearly seven minutes every month selectively browsing its extensive catalogue of 500 product ranges, which with various colour choices, make 1,200 items available to shoppers almost anywhere in the world, and in multiple currencies.

Among its many capabilities, SuiteCommerce Order Management (OMS) enables commerce transactions regardless of touchpoint or currency for retailers like EVITA PERONI. This system offers unmatched billing capabilities such as payment capture, refunds, invoiced billing, usage-based, and recurring billing to support any type of desired customer interaction for B2B and B2C environments. In addition, SuiteCommerce OMS provides a robust, rules-based workflow technology to manage the lifecycle of a transaction—order-to-fulfilment-to-payment capture-to-repurchase. It reduces fraudulent orders and the amount of time spent reviewing them by providing intelligent review and exception capabilities that will raise red flags and place a hold on orders. It also provides powerful back-office technology such as warehouse management capabilities, including bin and lot tracking, pick/pack/ship fulfilment process, support for multiple warehouse locations, and the intelligence to select the appropriate warehouse based on each merchant's business logic. SuiteCommerce can be integrated with local shipping services to generate real-time rates, print shipping labels, and automatically send package tracking information to shoppers. All of these capabilities are delivered with the multi-currency and multi-tax support required to deliver seamless global commerce.

Continuing its success moving forward, EVITA PERONI is working with NetSuite and The Egg with current plans to launch a new touchpoint on the SuiteCommerce platform—a mobile-optimsed site ahead of the Christmas 2012 period to enable customers to shop more easily on small screens. EVITA PERONI also works with NetSuite to continually improve its online business based on SuiteCommerce innovations, like the recent introduction of a new single-page checkout to lift sales and reduce shopping cart abandonment, as well as working on continual deep analysis of customer behavioural data.

"SuiteCommerce gives us an incredible ability to observe customer browsing and buying patterns, to quickly resolve any choke points that emerge and to guide regular site improvements to improve the shopping experience. Since going live almost two years ago, our webstore has become like a Michelangelo fresco – bigger than we could have imagined and a continual work in progress," said Mr Rojas.

Mark Troselj, managing director of APAC for NetSuite, commented: "EVITA PERONI shows how cloud can red-carpet a strong traditional retail brand into markets it never dreamed of going — unchaperoned and without the litany of costs, negotiations and drum rolls of traditional retailing. In a few short months, EVITA PERONI tapped into three times as many country markets as it had in the previous 20 years, which puts it on a fast-track to becoming one of the largest fashion accessories retailers in the world."
