Study reveals three quarters of Sage ERP users tied to desktops

New Study from YouGov Reveals Only 13 Percent of Sage Customers Can Access Software Online

SAN MATEO, Calif. and LONDON, UK—September 19, 2013—NetSuite Inc. (NYSE: N), the industry's leading provider of cloud-based financials / ERP and omnichannel commerce software suites, today announced the findings of new research in which three quarters (75 percent) of business leaders using Sage business software report having to access their business information from a desktop PC with client software installed, as opposed to through the cloud from any other device. This equates to over a quarter (29 percent) more ERP decision makers using Sage being constrained to PCs than those using every other business software reported. Only 13 percent of Sage customers say they're able to access their software through a browser, less than half the average for all other software users combined (30 percent).

The study, which was sponsored by NetSuite, was conducted by YouGov earlier in 2013. It questioned 531 ERP decision makers in businesses with between 50 and 1,000 employees, in roles including CEO, CFO, Owner, Vice President and those in senior and middle management roles. Seventy percent of respondents were Director level or higher.

In a competitive global economy where mobility is a necessity for business and finance leaders, solutions which are unable to provide access via the cloud seriously constrain operations and ultimately business growth. NetSuite enables businesses to transform their performance by taking their systems online. Its solutions let businesses manage their operations end-to-end with one integrated application—from accounting, inventory, sales, customer support and Ecommerce. Pedro Muller, Strategy Director of The Superyacht Group, comments on accessing NetSuite from his iPhone: "I'm often out of the office at industry events or travelling and NetSuite gives me anytime, anywhere access to our core business systems including critical commercial data, freeing me from a desktop and helping me to manage business effectively on the move. Mobile access has helped increase our sales force's productivity by 80 percent, thanks to the constant availability to real-time data for key clients. NetSuite's ability to provide access to key business data from any device should be considered an essential feature of a modern ERP system."
